Mirror Families in Electro-weak Symmetry Breaking

چکیده

We study symmetry breaking in a left-right symmetric extension of the Standard Model with mirror fermions, one for each Standard-Model fermion. The new particles assist a top-quark condensate in breaking electro-weak symmetry. Half of the fermions acquire electro-weak-invariant masses at around 500 GeV and would be probably accessible at future high-energy experiments like LHC or NLC. The contributions to the S and T parameters are small and negative in accordance with electro-weak precision data. To appear in Physics Letters B e-mail:[email protected] e-mail:[email protected]

Dynamical Symmetry Breaking with Mirror Fermions

Mirror fermions with masses around the weak scale could break dynamically the electro-weak symmetry if they were coupled with a new strong interaction. The purpose of this talk is to show what sort of dynamics are needed in order to render such theories phenomenologically viable.

New Physics with Mirror Particles

The introduction of mirror fermions with masses between the weak scale and 1 TeV could offer a dynamical origin to the standard-model electro-weak symmetry breaking mechanism. The purpose of this work is to study the dynamics needed in order to render models with such a fermion content phenomenologically acceptable. PACS codes: 12.10.Dm, 12.60.-i, 12.60.Cn, 12.90.+b

نقش شکست تقارن بار در اختلاف انرژی بستگی هسته‌های آینه‌ای 15O-15N و 17F-17O

Charge symmetry breaking potentials due to the exchange of pseudoscalar and vector mesons in mirror nuclei are considered. With the computation of coulmb energy along with the present charge symmetry breaking effects provide a reasonably accurate description of the binding energy differences between mirror nuclei.

Hadronic B decays from SCET

The standard model (SM) of particle physics has proven to hold up against any experimental tests it has been subjected to so far. The SM has several striking features for which no underlying principle has been experimentally confirmed to this date. First, the SM requires the scale of electro-weak symmetry breaking to be of order a few hundred GeV, which is many orders of magnitude below the onl...

Phenomenologically Viable Dynamical Electro–Weak Symmetry Breaking

The lack of deviations from the Standard Model at the current level of experimental precision can be explained systematically in suitable models of dynamical electro–weak symmetry breaking. The key ingredient is dynamics which produces a scalar unitarity partner for the Goldstone–Bosons and which leads to a decoupling of effects beyond the Standard Model. A phenomenologically successful left–ri...
